Due to a significant increase in fraudulent, fake, and automated signups, it has become necessary to introduce new protective measures. These changes form the first stage of Blazot Community Signals, a system designed to proactively identify and surface potential risk indicators. While no other social networks currently offer this level of transparency, Blazot is taking a forward‑thinking approach to help users better understand the trustworthiness of accounts they interact with. Accounts connecting from high‑fraud regions may also be flagged or disabled.
The Account Risk Level is the first step in alerting users to potential fraud, scammer, or bot activity. This system will become more accurate over time as additional factors are incorporated, but even in its early form it provides valuable visibility into accounts that exhibit concerning patterns.
Accounts using a non‑abusive VPN will typically receive a low‑level warning, which may appear on their profile, within transmissions, and in other areas. While many people use VPNs for privacy, scammers also rely on them to obscure their identity. For this reason, any account detected as accessing Blazot through a VPN will receive at least a low‑level warning.
Accounts using abusive VPNs (commonly used by scammers), data centers, or other high‑risk access methods will receive higher‑level warnings. A low‑level risk will display a white (or text‑color) caution icon. A medium‑level risk will display a yellow warning icon. A high‑level risk will display an orange warning icon, and a critical risk will display a red warning icon.
Most VPN services include a feature called split tunneling, which lets you choose which apps or websites use the VPN connection and which do not. If you prefer to continue using a VPN for general browsing but want to avoid triggering a risk warning on Blazot, you can add Blazot to your VPN’s split‑tunneling exclusions. This allows your normal internet connection to access Blazot directly while the rest of your online activity continues through the VPN.
